Here in the North East, we know how to show up for our own, and this June, the communities of Sunderland and South Shields did just that! Dunes Event Group was chuffed to bits to play a part in two cracking Armed Forces events, helping to lay on a grand show for our serving personnel, veterans, cadets, and their families. It was a proper privilege, and we pulled out all the stops to make sure everyone had a great time!
Bringing the Noise: Staging and Screens in Sunderland
Up in Seaburn, for the Sunderland Armed Forces Weekend, the atmosphere was buzzing. We were right there in the thick of it, setting up the main stage and a massive LED screen that really caught the eye. Picture it: blue skies over Seaburn Recreation Ground, and our stage hire package standing proud, ready for a packed schedule of live music and ceremonial moments. The live entertainment was flowing, with local and regional acts keeping spirits high over both days.
Our LED screen hire was crucial, making sure everyone, no matter where they were on the ground, could catch all the action, speeches, and tributes. It’s all about making sure every hero gets the recognition they deserve, and our screens helped spread that message far and wide. We believe top-notch staging for events like this is essential to honour the incredible bravery and commitment of our Armed Forces community.
Family Fun and Fairground Frolics in South Shields
Just down the road in Bents Park, South Shields, it was a slightly different vibe, but just as heartfelt. This one-day gathering was a fantastic family fun day, and Dunes Event Group was delighted to provide the fairground rides for the youngsters! Seeing the smiles on their faces as they spun on the tea-cups or rode the merry-go-round, with Disney characters and Cars themed vehicles, was just brilliant. There was a real buzz, with around 6,000 folks turning out for a heartfelt celebration that included a parade and a formal inspection on the main stage.
Our role here went beyond just the fun, though. We ensure that any stage hire we provide is robust and reliable, perfect for everything from solemn tributes to lively performances by bands like the Westoe Brass Band and Houghton Pipe and Drums Band. It’s about creating the perfect backdrop, whether it’s for a formal ceremony or simply enjoying the atmosphere.
